Glue Carrying Woman Saves The Day
We have a three year old daughter that has eagerly held onto the terrible two's into her third year. We were visiting Disney World recently (my wife, and two kids, 7 & 3). The latest 'problem area' my three year daughter was experiencing was over shoes. My wife had packed sneakers and flip flops for her that she believed were okay. But we told her that the flip flops were for the pool only because the parks require a lot of walking (even she was going to spend much of time in a stroller).
Well, from the moment we checked into our hotel, the sneakers drew a hairy fit, meaning the flip flops became the option and the first afternoon at the park went pretty well. The next morning, she came up to us with one of the flip flops, showing us where the bottom hole holding the strap in place had ripped. My wife sensed the opportunity to make the sneakers work, but even then, it was a no go.
So, there we were at Magic Kingdom with our three year hustling along with a broken flip flop. She amazingly put up with it for nearly three hours but the stop for lunch ended that lucky streak. During lunch, she started crying loudly over the tear in the bottom of her flip flop.
"You know, I have some elephant glue!" exclaimed a heavy set black woman listening to the fit from the table over.
This woman reached into her bag and pulled out what looked to be crazy glue.
Who carries glue to a them park? I asked myself.
My wife looked at me in disbelief but quickly grabbed the glue from the woman and went to work on the flip flop.
The glue kept the strap on the flip flop in place the entire trip and my daughter didn't complain once about her shoes.
And we threw the sneakers in the trash

StanMan, we have twins that went through that exact same phase, even down to the shoes. Socks were the worst fit inducing items. They twisted, scratched, itched, had imaginary holes....you name it.....That woman was your guardian angel that day. I'm surprised she didn't have wings

"I'm surprised she didn't have wings"......RichJ, doesn't everybody keep glue in their purse? What a fabulous idea! It goes on my packing list for my next trip to see Mickey and friends, though I bet it's not on the official disney packing list

Are you sure this lady wasn't sniffing the glue she was so freely handing out?

We are heading to Disney in the fall and crazy glue will be bought -I have a pretty fussy four year old girl, so thanks for the tip!
